Originally from South Africa, Taahirah graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2018 with a Professional Degree (Honors equivalent) in Speech and Hearing Therapy. She is passionate about her vocation, stemming from a great desire to help those who are vulnerable or in need. Taahirah has wide ranging and diverse experience working in schools, hospitals and private practice. Her experiences include, but are not limited to, clients with feeding and swallowing difficulties, Neurodevelopmental Delays, global delays, Cerebral Palsy, ASD, ADD/ADHD, Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Down’s Syndrome, Aural rehabilitation and Speech therapy for Children with hearing loss.
Taahirah’s attitude towards her work can be summed up by the quote, ‘Team work makes the dream work’ and the child’s team consists of the parents, care-givers, teachers, other therapists and professionals. Taahirah feels that working as a team is essential to ensure that the child’s journey will create ideal functional outcomes.
