Before your child can enroll in Able-Me, a parent consultation will be held
between the parents and a member of the Able-Me team.
This session typically lasts about 30-40 minutes and serves several important purposes:
- Identify and understand the parents’ concerns and reasons for seeking therapy
- Gather and discuss key information related to the child’s medical and developmental history or diagnoses
- Review any previous interventions or therapy the child has received
- Determine which Able-Me class the child will be invited to join for an exploration session.
The information gathered during the Parent Consultation is crucial for guiding the therapist’s
intervention and setting appropriate goals.
The therapist will provide verbal feedback on their initial thoughts and recommendations for the next steps.
The In’s & Out’s of Able-Me
A specialist service to facilitate each child’s learning and help them reach their maximum potential to the best of their abilities, the Early Learning and Intervention Programme (EILP) provides children with a strong foundation that every child needs to fulfill their milestones, abilities, strengths and talents as they grow. We believe that every child is unique and is constantly learning; they can be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured. We promote positive relationships in an enabling environment to support children while they learn to be strong and independent.
Headed by our Head of Therapy, who is an experienced Speech-Language Therapist, working within a multi-disciplinary environment with the focus on individualised goal settings. In addition, the programme has been developed using the principles of EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stages) and is created by an Educational Psychologist and a UK qualified Special Educational Needs Teacher. The programme is delivered by our trained Able-Me leaders who are all educated to a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) and have had a minimum of 3 years experience working in paediatrics.
Small groups with a favourable student-staff ratio of 2 adults and a maximum of 5 children per group. This ratio allows optimum support to facilitate the child’s development further. The programme runs four hour per day, from 9am to 1pm, five days per week, Sunday to Thursday. It is 10-months programme with open enrollment dates throughout the year round on a pay pro-rata basis.
Weekly Therapy Provision
A dedicated Speech-Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist will work with the classes on a weekly basis to provide specific advice and support to ensure carry over of strategies. The provision will mostly be in-class, and where appropriate small therapy groups will be conducted. The format of the provision is designed to support the EILP team to effectively implement therapy strategies which are so important to maximise development.
Before a place can be offered a Parent Consultation followed by a one week trial period to observe the child is required. Places are subject to availability!
*Although there is an upper age limit of 7 years, please note that the professionals in Able-Me will regularly evaluate the suitability of the group dynamics for each student on a case by case basis.
From some of our happy parents…
Over a year ago, we stepped into Sensation Station as clients, seeking intervention and therapy services for our daughter. We left not just satisfied but as friends of this remarkable place. The staff here are nothing short of incredible. Each interaction was imbued with professionalism, empathy and a passion for their work. It's not just a therapy centre; it's a beacon of hope and a community of support.
We are deeply grateful for their impact on our daughter's journey.Your commitment to nurturing our child’s early education journey is profoundly appreciated. We know it is a solid foundation as she steps into the next phase of her learning journey.
I was looking for a centre for my 7 year old Autistic son for activities and therapy based learning. I found Sensation Station at the right time. He is enjoying the place and staff is also very dedicated towards the kids to make sure they get maximum support. I will always recommend this centre.
I was having a hard time looking for an inclusion school that would be best fit for my son. Its such a blessing that I have found out about Sensation Station and got engaged with Michelle who made me understand how the Able-Me programme would help my son’s progress and to prep him for 'big' school. Their staff are so nice and friendly and I also like their reporting system where you see weekly activities and photos of your kid in action.
I am so proud of the kind child Johannes has become, a few years back, we couldn't have imagined this was possible. Coming to Sensation Station was the best decision we have ever made for him. Even on our 1st meeting for a consultation at the centre, we genuinely felt the sense of belongingness not only for us as parents but more so for Johannes. We feel that he found himself a second home. I am personally sad that he has to leave Sensation Station but this only means that the centre has made a real good job for him. I am truly proud how much progress he has achieved in just more than 2 yrs and this wouldn't be possible without all of you. It's a mixed feelings, so sad he has to say goodbye but very much happy that Johannes is ready to take on new challenges but also ready to make new friends. We couldn't thank you enough but again, thank you all very much from the bottom of our hearts for taking such good care of Johannes and we know that you are doing the same for Fil. More power to SS!
