What is Leaping Lilly Pads?
Leaping Lilly Pads learning and therapy programme is an innovative addition to the Able-Me Inclusion Programme. This programme mirrors an EYFS setup, aiming to support children transition to a mainstream or specialist school setting.
Why should my child join this programme?
If your child is at a school-going age and have received formal and/or informal feedback about them needing support to develop essential skills (e.g. toilet training, sharing skills, turn-taking skills etc.) to transition to mainstream school, then this programme is the right place him/her.
What is the age range of potential children?
Children between 4 years to 7 years of age are welcome in the programme, however, this depends on case-by-case basis, depending on the needs of the children.
What needs does this programme cater to?
We identify and support areas that need intervention, this could include speech, language, communication, physical barriers, behaviours that communicate anxiety, over stimulation, sensory processing, sensory seeking and many more.
How long does the programme run?
The programme is designed to run during school year for 5 days a week from 9 am to 2 pm.
How will my child benefit from this programme?
We aim to work towards development of skills such as – turn-taking, sharing, building friendships, requesting, fine motor, gross motor, following instructions, transitioning, toilet training, pre-academic skills and many more.
What types of activities will my child engage in?
Our classroom povides opportunity for your child to learn through a range of activities such as table-top (e.g. cutting, threading, colouring and/or painting), physical (e.g. yoga, dancing, exercises), pre-academic (e.g. phonics, numeracy) and many more.
Will you support my child with toilet training?
Yes, toilet training can be incorporated into your child’s individualized learning plans.
What curriculum does this programme use?
Leaping Lilly Pads target short and long term goals using frameworks within the child’s very own Tapestry Learning Journal.
How does transition to mainstream school take place?
A transition pack is designed to support their transition and these will be tailored based on your child’s needs.
Will my child receive additional therapy as part of this programme?
Yes, your child will receive Speech and Occupational Therapy services which is built into this programme.
Do you have any links with schools?
We closely work with many schools around the UAE as we provide outreach services for both Speech and Language Therapy.
