World Down Syndrome Awareness Day
March 21, 2019
We want to invite everyone to wear lots of bright and colourful socks on 21 March 2019 to raise awareness on World Down Syndrome Day and get people talking about it.
Rock Your Socks … and join us and families from around the world help raise awareness of what Down Syndrome is, what it means to have Down Syndrome, and how people with Down Syndrome play a vital role in our lives and our communities. Helps us to make the world a more accepting place for children and individuals with Down Syndrome.
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), observed on 21 March every year, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. Why March 21st? The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month (3.21) was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.
