PECS workshop for Professionals and Parents
The Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) is an intensive two-day interactive CPD training, designed to teach educational professionals and parents the theory and protocol for PECS, an evidence based practice. This tried-and-tested approach uses pictures to develop communication skills. It is appropriate for children with a wide range of learning, speech and communication difficulties, including children with Autism.
CPD Teacher Training Level 1:
“SLT & OT Strategies for Nursery Aged Children”
This is a one-day (2½hr) interactive workshop. Enhance your knowledge and learn strategies for supporting children in the areas of: Attention and Listening Skills, Gross and Fine Motor Skills, Expressive Communication, and following Instructions. Presented by Senior Speech & Language Therapist and Senior Occupational Therapist at Sensation Station.
CPD Teacher Training Level 2:
“Strategies for Nurseries: Social Interaction & Emotional Regulation”
This is a one-day (2½hr) interactive workshop. Explore practical ideas of how to enhance the social interaction skills of nursery students, as well as how to support their emotional literacy and regulation. Strategies shared will aim to foster more integration and reduce the frustration a child may feel due to his/her communication and/or sensory profile. Presented by Senior Speech & Language Therapist and Senior Occupational Therapist at Sensation Station.
