Our next Parent Coffee Morning will be held on Thursday, 11th May 2017 from 9am to 10am at our centre. We would like to invite like-minded Parents to join us for a FREE talk and discussion on CHILD NUTRITION: “Is the GAPS diet right for your Child?”, presented by Jordana Smith, Paediatric Dietitian at the Infinity Health Clinic.
GAPS stands for Gut And Psychology Syndrome, a condition where psychological or neurological disorders such as Autism, ADD and OCD are said to be caused by imbalances in the gut.
GAPS is a temporary diet that was designed by Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD to reverse autism in her own son. As a parent of a child diagnosed with learning disabilities, Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride is aware of the difficulties facing other parents like her, and she has devoted much of her time to helping these families. She realized that nutrition played a critical role in helping children to overcome their disabilities. She believes that the link between learning disabilities, the food and drink that we take, and the condition of our digestive system is absolute, and the results of her work have supported her position on this subject.
GAPS is a diet based on restricting certain foods to allow the digestive system to repair and reinoculate, which aims to improve the mental development of Children with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia by healing their digestive system.
