World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), observed on 21 March every year, is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012. Why March 21? The date for WDSD being the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

The specific aims of the weekly social skills group sessions for children, age 6-8, is to develop the areas of: initiating conversation, conversational turn-taking, maintaining a topic of conversation, asking & responding to questions, understanding social cues, developing effective verbal & non-verbal communication and are facilitated by a Speech-Language Therapist.

Our Music and Movement Summer Group Classes continue until 11th August 2016. The classes include a variety of fun games and activities to build social and rhythmic skills to develop social skills, facilitates cooperation through pair and small group work.
